I am calling this article Differentiated service, for the following reasons. The term smart service is too closely associated with Sun Microsystems, and the term context-aware service covers services differentiated by context but not services differentiated by identity. The term also links to the notions of differentiation and integration in organization studies (Lawrence & Lorsch) and requisite variety in cybernetics (Ross Ashby, Stafford Beer), although these notions are not yet adequately represented within Wikipedia. --RichardVeryard 10:37, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
